When Should I Invite Visitors?
Every Week is a Visitor Week! Set a goal to invite visitors to your meeting every week. Talk to at least 5-10 people per week about your BNI Chapter.

Let the MEETING Sell BNI!
The main purpose is to get visitors to come to the meeting. Once they are there, the meeting will sell them on BNI. Don't tell prospective members too much - the less you tell them, the better. It is like trying to give someone a haircut on the phone, you cannot get a prospective member excited just by telling about BNI. If they see a structured meeting with supportive members helping each other and lots of business done, they will want to become involved in your chapter.

So WHAT Should I Say?
The following are THREE ideas of what to say:

"John I am working with a group of local business people who are looking for a plumber (insert profession of the person you are inviting) to give their business to. Would you like to come our and meet my colleagues?"
Do not say ANYMORE, let the MEETING sell them.

When you invite a potential new member to your chapter tell them that you are part of a "buyers club", when they ask you what a buyers club is, tell them that you meet with a group of business professionals on a weekly basis and the sole purpose of the meeting is to find buyers for each others services. By using this line, Jim Ward of the Tuesday Rockville Breakfast chapter brought 11 visitor's day.

The Phrase That Pays is; "How do you market yourself?"
This can be incorporated in many ways. Make a commitment that at least 3 times a day you end a phone call with; "How do you market yourself?"
When you are at a Chamber or other business event, ask people; "How do you market yourself?"
When you are meeting with clients don't forget to ask; "How do you market yourself?"
Once you ask the question, it will be a great opportunity for you to talk about your BNI chapter and the members in it.
